How Mogel handles your account and workspace data.
Who we are
Mogel (“we”, “us”) is a career and finance tracking app for creatives, operated by a team based in California, United States. Contact: mogelapp@gmail.com.
Information we collect
We collect the email you use to sign in; profile and workspace data you enter (such as activities, pay, expenses, and preferences); waitlist details if you submit them; and limited technical information needed to run and secure the service. If product analytics is on (default), we also collect anonymous usage signals such as which screens and tabs you open and coarse feature taps (for example activity or expense type enums)—never activity titles, client or agency names, notes, search text, money amounts, or exact booking dates. We store an anonymous install identifier on your device so we can count unique installs; it is not your account email or user id and is not joined to those. If you connect Google Calendar, we also store OAuth tokens and a mapping of which Mogel bookings correspond to which Google Calendar events so we can update or remove those events when your bookings change. You can turn off product analytics anytime in Settings → Help improve Mogel.
How we use information
We use this information to provide your account and workspace, sync across your devices when you are signed in, process a subscription when billing is enabled, keep the service reliable, understand aggregate product usage so we can improve Mogel, and contact you about Mogel. We do not sell your personal information or workspace data. We do not use product analytics for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Calendar sync (optional)
If you connect Google Calendar in Settings, Mogel requests permission to create, update, and delete calendar events so your bookings can appear on your Google Calendar. We only send booking details you already saved in Mogel (such as title, dates, times, type, project, agency, and notes). For events Mogel created, Sync may read title, notes, and start/end times back from Google when you change those fields on the calendar, so Mogel stays current — we do not import unrelated Google events, and we do not use calendar data for ads or profiling. If you use a calendar feed link instead, that private URL lets Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or another app that supports it read the same booking details. Anyone with the link can see those bookings until you rotate the link or delete your account. You can disconnect Google or rotate the feed anytime in Settings. Calendar sync is off unless you turn it on.
Google user data — access, use, storage, and sharing
When you connect Google Calendar, Mogel accesses Google user data only through Google’s OAuth and Calendar APIs, with the scopes shown on the Google consent screen. We use that access to write and maintain events that represent your Mogel bookings on your calendar (create, update, or delete those events), and to read title, notes, and start/end times on those same linked events when Sync brings a calendar edit back into Mogel. We store refresh and access tokens, the connected Google account email when provided, calendar identifiers needed for the API, and event-id links for synced bookings. We do not share Google user data with advertisers or data brokers. Google processes calendar content under Google’s terms and privacy policy. We may use infrastructure vendors (for example our cloud host and database) as processors to store tokens and sync metadata; they may not use that data for their own purposes.
Data protection for Google and other sensitive data
We protect account, token, and workspace data with industry-standard safeguards: encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS) between the app, our servers, and Google; access limited to your signed-in account via authentication; OAuth tokens stored in our secured cloud database and used only by our server-side sync process (not embedded in public clients); and no use of Google user data for advertising, sale, or unrelated product features. Human access to user data is limited to what is needed to operate or secure the service, investigate abuse, or comply with law, and is otherwise not used to read Google Calendar contents. You can revoke Google access in Mogel Settings (Disconnect) or in your Google Account permissions; disconnecting removes the calendar events Mogel created, then deletes our stored Google tokens and event-link records. Deleting your Mogel account removes your cloud workspace data associated with the account, including calendar connection data. We retain Google connection data only while the connection is active or as needed for security and legal obligations.
Limited use of Google user data
Mogel’s use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data obtained through Calendar APIs is used only to provide or improve user-facing calendar sync features, is not sold, and is not used for serving advertisements. Transfers to third parties are limited to service providers acting on our behalf, user-initiated actions, or as required for security or legal compliance.
Storage
Data lives on your device. If you sign in, it is also stored in a private cloud account so you can use Mogel on more than one device. You can export or delete your account in Settings.
Service providers
We use vendors for hosting, sign-in, website analytics, in-app product analytics (PostHog, United States), payments when billing is on, and crash reporting when enabled. They process data only to provide those services. Product analytics uses an anonymous install id and allowlisted events only; we do not send session replays or form field heatmaps. If you connect Google Calendar, Google processes the booking details you choose to sync under Google’s own terms and privacy policy. Information may be stored in the United States.
Your rights
You can review, export, and delete your data in Settings, turn off Help improve Mogel to stop product analytics capture, or email mogelapp@gmail.com. If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used under California law, and we do not use it for cross-context ads. Optional calendar sync is something you turn on yourself; it is not advertising-related sharing.
Children
Mogel is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top is when it was last revised. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
